Wow, all of that in one day! That calls for a least 2 beers.

That sounds like a great idea they came up with for Liam. Sending vibes they come around for Cian. That OT comment was just crap. I hate those kind of policies. Its just riduculous.

I know I responded to this yesterday. I must have gotten sidetracked and closed my windows mid-reply I think.

What a nutty day. Those types are so stressful. Thank goodness it came on a friday, I like them better on a friday. My Friday afternoons are always free so if I want to go home and have a beer I know I don't have to drive anywhere. (I am neurotic about drinking and driving)

I understand about the frustrations with Cian's OT stuff. We had alot of frustrations like that when Mike was 4. He was 2+ years delayed in gross motor, some fine motor areas, social skills and severe sensory issues but didn't qualify because his langauge was only 6m delayed an no cognitive delay. We were told he would only qualify with those at the time. It went back and forth for 2 years on testing (that districts kept requesting) and he even was on a temporary IEP 2 times.

I understand the need for those guidelines but really sometimes they just don't help if you are going to be really rigid with them. Most really good OT's will say he is just on the edge and qualify him anyway based on observation or SOMETHING. Problem is that most aren't "really good".

I just had to chime in Dee, and say I feel your pain on the "policy" issue. I was recently told at my son's CPSE meeting that he didn't qualify for Physical Therapy because his delay was 24% and the threshhold was 25%. Is the steam coming from my head fogging up your screen yet? ;)
