DD and Christmas

I was reading below about your kids and their Christmas "wish" lists. I was like that and loved making out my "list" to Santa every year. We were spoiled and my brothers and I had atleast 20 toys/games written down (no clothes of course LOL.)
My "only" who is 8, is different about Christmas than most kids. First off, she is homeschooled and second, we didn't have cable until a year ago. She hears other kids talk about Christmas and toys, but not that much. She doesn't think about what she wants or thinks about making a list. Of course, we never pushed it. We, and her family, ask her what she wants for Christmas each year and the reply is the same, "I don't know." She is grateful for any gift and does like getting presents, but doesn't have a clue as to what she really wants. It is funny, this year she told her grandmother that she doesn't want any toys, just clothes, because she has too many toys. She said this because I commented on how many toys she has: garage sale items all year from grandmother and McDonald's toys and she wants to keep all her stuffed animals since babyhood as well.
It is just so funny to have a child not getting all excited about Christmas and gifts. She does like it and loves toys and whenever she sees a commercial on TV, she says, "I want that," but then forgets about it and what it was. I guess she wants it all LOL.
One year on Christmas morning, she just went to play with her own toys and didn't even bother looking under the Christmas tree for her gifts. DH and I had to show her the presents there. This kid isn't into commercialism.

Debbie, do you mind if I'm just a *wee* bit jealous of you?
Yep, we can get away cheap and a good thing because we are struggling financially, but she got so much from garage sales. My MIL is very frugal and gets real bargains there. So she has more than enough. She even found some wonderful, "like new" clothes. With her Asperger's, she isn't into designer stuff and doesn't know what it is, but is grateful for almost all the clothes she gets unless there are tags in them that bother her, than she won't wear them.
She really isn't into how clothes look too much. I mean, she likes the looks, but has no problem putting on pants that aren't long enough.
I'm glad Stephanie will be grateful for clothes. Of course while they are growing they need new stuff and relatives helping out in that part really helps. MIL found a great winter coat and boots for her. I know she'll love it.
