Dh got a call from dd's teacher yesterday. She shut down on friday during music and yesteday during math. Of course they had no idea why which is so irritating. I can make some guesses....die off from SCD, possibly has epstien barr virus (has all the same symptoms as my neice who has mono except dd didn't get a fever), having trouble with this nasty girl in her class, can't see the board, is mad they are making her do stupid baby addition timed tests???? Who knows. I feel like all I'm ever doing is guessing with this child and I just don't know what to do. I emailed dd's NP about her symptoms (fatige, side pain, ect) and asked is this die off or a virus. Her reply was your guess is as good as mine. Oh, I'm so happy I'm paying her $200 an hour for that!

Samantha,

did you ask her explicitly about these shutdowns?

Paula,

Hannah won't talk about what happens at school AT ALL, hence the guessing on my part. She won't tell them at school what is upsetting her either. She has an IEP but it doesn't have much in it because they are as clueless as we are on how to help her. I did let the teacher know about the girl she was having trouble with at the begining of the yr. She said she'd try to keep them apart. I emailed the teacher this morning about moving dd back to the front of the room so she can see better. I think they moved her to the back and sat her next to the boy with AS so the aide can keep an eye on her easier. So she does have the aide looking after her and they should at least have a theory. I might have to call a meeting if it keeps up. Thanks for the input.

(((((Samantha))))) I hate that you're going through this "stuff" - I really do. Not that it's much of a consolation, but you're not alone.

For Claire, it seems to be Spanish that's sending her into fits. She hates it, and nobody can seem to understand why. WELL DUH! She has trouble communicating in her NATIVE language. Perhaps the whole second language thing is difficult for her?

Oh, sorry...that was one of my angry outbursts. My bad.
