Help! My middle son has not been diagnosed Aspergers but DH and I are fairly sure he has it. He is 8. Lately he's gotten more and more difficult to handle. A recent dinner conversation consisted of my boys trying to find the source of some tracks in the snow. My youngest (age 5) said "I know, maybe it was a dinosaur!". Middle DS got very distressed. He said "it couldn't have been a dinosaur because dinosaurs are extinct! We explained that the youngest didn't know that, and seemed to just be playing anyway. Middle just kept getting fired up. We eventually just dropped the discussion, but DS2 just kept needing to have the last word.

He also has been correcting everything- pronunciation, misuse of words, wrong information. He is so blunt bordering on rude. I don't know how to handle it.

The other thing that has started lately is he needs specific information. If I tell him to pick up that toy over there he gets VERY upset unless I tell him exactly which toy (by the correct name). Even if there is only one toy on the floor he'll say "Which toy? I don't know which toy THAT is!"

Luckily he's also very, very sweet so the difficulties are minimized a bit.
