It sounds like you did a fantastic job for your first IEP......I love that not only did you have packets for everyone in attendance but that they had Isaac's picture on them (how beautiful).....Great Job Mom!!!!
What exactly was the "PCA assessment"? I can't figure out the initials.....
In most states it is called respite. We had the darndest time finding respite workers who were able to work with HFA kids and get it as well as be consistent and responsible. The kids are older and OK with thier grandparents now so honestly, I just gave up my respite services a couple weeks ago. I haven't used them in a year anyway.
I have some GREAT respite stories though, like the time Cait mooned and farted on the respite worker while Mike and Dave streaked around the house. Funny how Renita moved right after that.....hmmmmmmmmm.
LOL......sounds like some interesting stories......hysterical now but probably not at the time. Makes me think of my first babysitting gig......I had to watch a set of triplets (one girl and two boys who were 4 yrs old).....the girl had extremely long hair and she had it in two ponytails.....while I was seperating her two brothers (to stop them from killing each other).....she got a hold of a pair of scissors and cut off one of her ponytails.....while I was attending to her - the two boys ran downstairs in the basement and came running upstairs screaming and carrying a flaming broom (they decided to stick the broom into the furnace pilot light). Believe it or not, their parents actually asked me to babysit again.....I declined.
It went very well actually.

"PCA" is a Personal Care Assistant (or attendant).
