That means "Thank goodness Mother-in-Law was not here!"

I know exactly what you mean. We had a difficult christmas moment last night and unfortunately MIL and FIL where there.

The inlaws decided to buy a big group gift for all the grandkids that would stay at thier house. Well to get the effect of this no children were allowed in the playroom until all grandkids arrived. Due to inlaw rigidity, all the kids were stuck in the breakfast area and entry until all arrived. FIL got in Mike's face and MIL was all bent out of shape over my insisting (after some timeout in the car) that he was going in the back yard.

Just wrote a long post that would have stole the tread but as you can tell from the set up, Christmas eve wasn't pretty. Christmas day went well. Very quiet, Just my mom, new iPod (and listening to music is a magical thing for him) and stress was over.

Good for David on recovering though and I am glad everyone was understanding. I hope your stress reduces really soon and you enjoy the rest of vacation.

Renee (who got Mike ZERO lego this year AND he only got one bionicle guy!)

Evelyn,

i'm glad your MIL wasn't there too, because I can totally see how it might have played out. Peter wuld have had exactly the same reaction to something like that. Shattered expectations are a huge trigger.

Your mom sounds like a keeper, BTW.
