do we have any members in the Gulf Coast

I have been racking my brains all day to think if we have any members in the disaster area. We have had so many new members join recently, that I can't keep track! Does anyone know of any members in that region? Has anyone dropped off the board suddenly in the past couple of days?
Also, does anyone have any family or friends in the region who need our P&PT?
Let's send lots of P&PT down to that region and anyone who may be dealing with an Aspie or Autie in the midst of it all... (gulp)

I have been trying to think of that too and I can't think of any off hand, but there are also many folks, particularly new, who I don't know where they are from.
I have a friend local and my old college roommate who grew up in mississippi. Neither are in the area now but family still is. I am seeing my one friend this afternoon and hope to find then that all her family is ok.
prayers for all those in harms way. What a horrible thing.

I have a cousin who lives outside Biloxi. She, her husband, 3 kids, and two pets did evacuate to Orlando, FL. However, against all our advice, they are now driving back to Biloxi. I can't imagine what they will find or if they are really prepared for what they will see. As one who lived through Hurricane Andrew here in Miami, I will never forget that devastation and this seems much worse.
I can't stop thinking about my cousin. Every time I see the tv I start crying. We all asked her to leave the kids here, but they seem to all want to be together. I guess I can understand that but I am just so worried. They did take emergency supplies with them. But now that they are on the road, we have no contact with them, as their cell phones were based in Biloxi and I don't think it is going to be easy to find phones, hotels. Anyway, it is their decision and I understand the "not knowing" about your home is hard. Last fall we chose to evacuate a few times and it's so hard to decide what personal possessions you can fit into a suitcase, expecting nothing to be left upon return. For me, we always were fortunate enough to come back to our home intact, but I know my cousin will not be so lucky.
Please, please keep them and everyone in the region in your prayers, as I know you do.
Here in Miami, we just finished our brush with Katrina. Nothing compared to what she became. Even here as a cat 1 she was worse than predicted. The eye passed over us and we wished we had put up our hurricane shutters, normally we do, but this was predicted to be a tropical storm when it hit us. But fortunately, no damage for us, just loss of power for a few days, which was nothing in light of things.
Sorry to be so long. I'm just very worked up and upset. I almost feel like I did after 9/11. I think it might also be a little "post trauma stress syndrom" from Hurricane Andrew coming back too. Katrina hit us in Miami almost on the anniversary of Andrew.
