Do your kids kiss things?

Jacob has been doing this alot lately. He used to do more touching things with his lips---things that were new to him. Lately--he is kissing--himself. His hands/fingers. I don't know why. I've seen him to it after he got hurt--but I've also noticed him do it just sitting there watching TV. Just "whenever" and for no apparent reason.
So what's that about??

Holly,
Nathan does do this sometimes. But I think he only does it to show affection. If he really likes a toy...he'll kiss it. And he does soooo enjoy kissing me, and his brother (which Tyler can't stand!!!!), and dh, but only if he shaves!!! LOL
He does smell and touch things, and then will go wash his hands if he feels it necessary! LOL I don't think I've seen him kiss himself though...at least not in my presence.

Kadan kisses everything and everyone, he has even started doing it to strangers when we are out in public. I think it is an OCD kind of thing. He just can't seem to stop doing it and once he has decided to kiss something he is stuck until he does.
I don't have any brilliant advice, we haven't been able to stop it yet, but we are in the same boat.

Interesting... my DD is 4 and she also tends to touch things with her lips. Hasn't reached the kissing phase yet, but I'm wondering if we'll be in the same boat in a year...
So no ideas from me, but I'm interested to hear what others say!!!

It's not something he does all the time--its just that I noticed he started doing. Fors years he would just bring things to his lips--now its kissing!! He was doing the kiss our neighbors and my girls friends. He is just being annoying and attention seeking. But then I noticed him kissing himself---when he's by himself. Just his hands/arms.
Why did I think my son couldn't be ASD because he was too affectionate? I guess I thought ASD kids showed no affection. Maybe thats a "classic" sign of Kanners autism?
