Drive-In Double Feature!

What a blast!
Last night, DH and I loaded the kids in the van and drove about an hour to a little town that has a drive-in movie theatre. I was shocked when DH told me he'd never been to one because there was one about 10 minutes away from where we were both raised. (I remember seeing "Star Wars" when it first came out at the drive-in.) While Noah and Emma made it all the way through the double feature, "Ratatouille" and "Meet The Robinson's", Claire zonked out about halfway through the first...but that was perfectly fine with us!
It was so much more relaxing than taking the kids to the theatre. Lots of space to spread out, if they talked, nobody even noticed...definitely worth the trip, and definitely something we'll do again! Of course, getting home at 2:00 a.m. made for a couple of late sleepers this morning, but who cares?!?!
By the way, both movies were fantastic. I had assumed I'd dislike "Ratatouille", but it was great. We hadn't seen "Meet The Robinson's" yet...and we loved it too.
So, if you can find a drive-in in your area, give it a go. Our kids all loved it...and so did we.

AMY! Omg, I was just thinking about this myself this morning. That the last time Tony and I went to the drive in, my 20 yr old dd was 7 and the boys weren't even thought of yet!
There's one here in town. I'm gonna look up whats playing and talk Tony into going with the boys tonite.
Sounds like alot of fun!

I know there's one in Galesburg, IL and hope to take the kids to someday this summer. Was going to last year but ended up being to busy that summer. They are a lot of fun. I remember seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark at one & remember my GRANDMOTHER took us to see Porkys at one. I don't think she realized what that movie was about until after taking us. LOL

We were going to go to the one in Galesburg, but the one in Galva had two movies we hadn't seen. Distance wise, they were both about the same...so we opted for more bang for our buck!
