Ds answered my question for me

My question, or should I say Debbies that I stole ;), How long do I let him suffer. Today was the clincher for me. I could sure use some prayers that this all works out easily and doesn't turn into a big fight.
Ds had another melt down at school today. This time he was destructive. He tore up his notebook in the hall. They then took him into the special ed class room where he knocked books off of book shelves, tore stuff off the walls, threw his alpha smart on the floor and stepped on it, threw a book at the window (thankfully it didn't break). When I got there he was on the floor with no glasses on, he threw them, and no shoes on. They didn't see it coming. The new interventions & staff training isn't working.
I told them to come up with some ideas and call me when they are ready for the IEP meeting. The principal said he'd talk to the superintendent today. He's going to try to talk him out of his tightly gripped money for a teacher for Kyle so he can have more of an self contained type program. They have no one now who can teach Kyle the gen ed curriculum. Wish us luck. I don't want this to be a big fight.

Oh Samantha (((HUGS))))
Poor Kyle, Poor you. I hope they come up with some good ideas and supports for him and ditch PE all together. Are you keeping him home tomorrow? Maybe have a nice relaxing weekend and enjoy him and help him get to a good calm place.
Renee
It really does sound like Kyle needs a legitimate self contained set up for now.
(((Samantha)))) poor you, poor Kyle!
I hope they get something better in place soon! it sounds like things can't get much worse. It's too bad our kids have to lose control before the schools will do something.

Samantha,
I'm so sorry, that must be so rough for you to hear about and see - and, in turn, for Kyle to experience. I hope he's able to get some additional assistance to help things go a little smoother. In the meantime, hugs, and open school wallet vibes coming your way.
(((Samantha))) that sounds like a pretty clear-cut answer to me!
Debbie,
Dh & I talked about keeping him out of school but decided against it because knowing the process, it'll probablly be a long time be for its all sorted out, unfortunately. He is home today because his throat hurts. Friday the Autism consultant is coming to observe and interview staff. That is the only plan so far. They won't make any major changes without their input. Last yr when the came it took forever to get the report from then. I already told the principal I would not be waiting that long this yr.
