Ds is copying a kid in his class

My ds is in a small self-contained classroom out of district, but in his town school. There is a new child in this classroom that makes incredibly loud, grunting noises. He will run up to people and shout in their ears and he yells words randomly like "hey baby" & "I said NO". This little boy is not on the spectrum, he's got many behavioral issues. I'm not sure why he's in a PDD classroom. Anyhoo, ds is now copying this child's behaviors and verbal outbursts. He did this when he first started in the class. He began copying the "alpha" kid. Bill seems to zero in on the strongest personality and then he tries to copy them. I think, he thinks, that these are the "cool" kids and he wants to be liked and cool too. I can understand that, but the sounds are just driving me NUTS. If I hear one more "I said no" I'm gonna lose my head. Anybody have any suggestions for redirecting him. I've tried taking away his beloved Pokemon, tv, games etc. He still will occasionally do this. The kid was on his bus today and when ds got off the bus he was doing it. Thanks in advance.

I agree with Evelyn, as it sounds very Tourettes like, and my younger son shows more signs with Tourettes then Asperger's.

He does things like that, shouts out odd things, plus the cursing. Just thank god that kid is not shouting curse words like my son does lol.

Remember, that child cannot help himself.

Maybe you can explain to your child that the boy in question cannot help himself, but your son can. And he's not allowed to do it?

If anything else, I really think your son will tire of all of this and eventually move on.

It will just take time, and remember people give words too much power in my opinion. They are just words.

Thanks guys. You're right. I'm sure Bill will tire of it eventually. Actually there is another child who yells curse words but Bill for some reason isn't as interested in those. Evelyn, I didn't even think of LRE.
