Hi there you are lucky that he has not learned a lot earlier how to climb out.My youngest learned how at 2 years 2 months old.I was hoping that he wouldn't learn how till 3.I have heard of people putting up a baby gate in the door way that way you can still see him but he can't get out.

Maybe try what I have seen

Hugs to you. My AS son (also 3.5) actually started sleeping in a twin bed when he was 19 months old because our 2nd child came along and we were too cheap to buy another crib, LOL. My parents gave us my old twin bed, so - there went Riley, into a twin bed with a nice long guardrail.

Is it an option to put a doorknobprooferthingy on the inside doorknob of his room? If he's like my 3.5 year old, you might not be able to trust him in his room alone with the door closed - but I'm trying to think of options for you. My 3.5yo currently gets up around 6am, turns on all the lights on the upper level of the house and then comes in our room and says "hello." We have to turn off all the lights and go put him back in bed most mornings.

Best wishes for a smooth transition to whatever is coming next for you all!
