Is DS too old for Baby Einstein?

Hi, Jacob will be 2 1/2 on April 18th but he still LOVES it so much. This is one of the only dvd's he sits still for? I don't know if it's too babyish or not. Should I get him off of it? I want to buy the new out on Tuesday but I don't know if I should...we have about 15 dvd's including vhs but I love them too!!!

My two kids are watching one as I type this. They love them and Jake(almost 3) has watched them since he was about 6 weeks old. I often think that is why Jake's speech is so good. Ella loves all the music and puppets. I think they are great and I don't know if you ever noticed at the end of the movie but they donate to the Autism Society of America.
Teresa
Teresa, I never did notice that about donating to autism...wow, well for sure I'm going to buy it! Thanks!

IF he likes it let him watch it.

When I recently pulled out my Baby Einstein/ Mozart/ Shakespear for my 15 month old, my sons, ages 5 (NT) and 7 (AS) both came in to watch... I think these are great for any age!

My youngest dd, Lily, is 3.5 yrs. and she still loves Baby Einstein. I've often wondered if I should put the DVDs away, but they are so calming for her, especially after a long, over-stimulating day or when she is sick. She doesn't have much of an attention span for anything else, but she is sitting a little bit longer for preschool shows lately. I think that it's not really anything to worry about too much. Lily watches less Baby Einstein than she did at 2.5 yrs, so I think that she is naturally out-growing it--it's just taking her a bit longer than most. MAybe your son will do the same thing. HTH

I think they are great. My son Aaron, 5 yrs 3 mos, PDD-NOS, has watched them since he was a baby. It has only been in the past couple of months when I put one in for his sister, who is 2, that he complains. But still, he will often end up watching them.
I asked this same question of a friend who has a NT 7 yr old son and a 1 yr old. She said the 7 yr old still watches Baby Einstein on occasion.
The longtime fave around here is Baby Galileo.
Amanda
Thanks everyone...we haven't seen Galileo yet...our favs are Baby Macdonald and baby Newton...
I realized that he calms down a lot also when it's on....great thing!
