I apologise in advance for the long post. First time here. DS/17 has AS and up until a year and a half ago, things were going along somewhat smoothly. Then, he decided that he didn't need meds anymore (he was on Ritalin and Zyprexa) and since then, things have gotten so bad, I don't know where to turn. He flunked his Junior year and dropped out. Was arrested for pot at school last year. Has taken to a "goth" syle of dressing that is really extreme.(I am sure that he is hanging out with goth kids and dressing this way to fit in somehow)

We're just starting the teen years, so I don't have any BTDT advice, but I can tell you what I would do as a first recourse in this situation - one that we may be in, just a few years from now.

I would turn to a counselor at

Andrea, mom to

I'm sorry you are in such a bad position, when they become an adult it's real hard to force them to do anything.
