I know it's just all the excitment going on....but it's hard to watch him diverting back to this. Nathan has been repeating what I say again. Either the whole phrase or sometimes just the last word I say. He'll say it about 3 times or so. Poor thing is sooo wound up, he can't even hear me when I'm talking to him. I have to call his name a couple of times before he snaps out of his world. And then when he does, he looks at me and says frantically, "what? what did you say?" Then I'll repeat it....but he's already spaced off again!!!
I like seeing him excited, but I don't like seeing him so distracted he can't concentrate on what's going on around him. So far, he's still doing ok at school. He just saves the "fun" stuff for me!!!!
How are all of your kids doing with Christmas just around the corner?

I know how frustrating that is.Jake was doing it constantly for a couple of months but then stopped when he seemed to get more language. I thought finally it was behind us but within a few months he was doing it again. With Jake I have found it happens more when he's making a big leap with his language or in his overall development. He also repeats when there are many visual distractions and it's as if he hears me but he repeats because there is so much information to take in, it just won't register in his brain and he becomes overloaded. He has been pretty hyper over the last couple of weeks and I notice he's a little spacy again which in him is usually a sign he's stressed. We took the kids on the polar express train last night. It was really cute but man was he hyped. He was echoing like crazy, lines from the movie and things I was saying to him. The conducter actually came over to tell him to sit in his chair and like magic he sat still for most of the ride until they served all the kids hot cocoa!!!!! To be honest I think it's probably all the excitement with the holidays and if your like me and have no choice but to bring them holiday shopping with you, it's no surprise why they are so overwhelmed!Hopefully after everything calms down after the holidays it will improve.
