EI coming to eval Roan (not for ASD)

So Roan is perfect....um weellll. She is social, great eye contact, has some words, sounds perfect doesn't it. The thing is SHE DOESN"T SLEEP!!! Each and every night she's up between 4-8 times. She does nap during the day but there's no rhyme or reason to any kind of pattern or length; then add in the sensory seeking behaviour at night, (lying on my head in bed, climbing all over us too).

The last few weeks I have noticed she has an odd gait, (think Charlie Chaplin) and is walking using her little toes to grip as she walks. The doc says it's because her hips are turned out out and "in a month it'll be gone." Hmm where have I heard "give it time" that before...oh yes with both boys at every well baby check up....grrrrr

At birth Roan's hip was clicking and we had her hips checked by an ortho and she got the all clear. Well why do I feel once again the professionals have prematurely OK'd everything??!!

So I finally got some sense (that Paula has tried to beat into me a few times with Roan) and Babies Can't Wait (EI) is coming Tuesday. I could be off base here, but I'd rather be off base than negligent, kwim?

It is hard to call and ask for EI.

good plan, Dee. better to be sure than sorry.

I just had a thought as well (don't panic, I'm OK): I wonder if she develops pain in her hips when she lays down? I have a bad hip and it interferes with me sleep no end, because I can't get bloody comfortable. I wonder if lying on your head takes the pressure off? (I'm coming over there to sleep on your head and see! :P )

I may be way off base here, but it might be a good idea to see another ortho. Also try observing her with this in mind and see if you see any patterns.
