Euan's Guide to Asperger's Syndrome

I sat down with Euan and we drew this up. His ASD outreach worker is using this to work with his homeroom on awareness of difference and how the children can support Euan, but his ASN teacher was also very impressed and is going to use it with each of his teachers to work out a programme of supports and accommodations in his different classes. I'll let you know how successful that is, but I am very impressed that the school is willing to put in the effort.

I've cut and pasted this below: obviously it is personal to Euan, but it could be used and adapted for most of our kids, I think, and it might be useful for you guys to use if you are encountering a lot of resistance or ignorance about Asperger's/ ASD. What is most useful about it is that it demystifies it AND it offers some solutions (all Euan's own ideas, based on his experiences) and it shows teachers that most of the accommodations he needs are not rocket science, or even particularly hard/expensive/disruptive.

Anyway, hope it is useful for someone. I don't think it has formatted properly under the headings but I am not sure how to fix that! I can always email a copy to anyone separately who wants it
