I took DS, age 9, to a pediatric opthamologist today.
I don't know what tests the pediatric opthamologist did, but just today we took Graham to see a developmental optometrist who did tests I had never seen before.
I did explain that it was the processing/tracking that we were concerned about, and this was the doctor that was recommended for that.
I did look on line and also asked our local optometrist.
He said he can't read to himself, he can only read out loud.
I was at a lecture last night, they talked about reading problems, & had the following suggestions:
1. Try pastel colored sun glasses
2. Write on pastel colored paper
for some reason some people with Autism have the letters jump around the page, doing these 2 things will help some of the people, it's worth a try!
