I am glad it ended for you. I missed the first post about this. Bug phobias have been kind of a theme on and off and appear to be relatively common though not hugely. We put Mike in cognitive therapy for it when he was about 7 because it got so bad. He wouldn't go outside, he was having a horrible time on the play ground.
He still isnt a fan of bugs but he isn't deathly afraid anymore either.
Glad he is over it that fast. You will find with your Aspie that as fast as he has something happening today, it will be gone tomorrow. I can't tell you the number of things that my son has decided he hate today and loves tomorrow -- very odd. But that is how they are.
Just a suggestion, I would still get him books to read about dragon flys just to make sure you have that fear nipped in the budd.
Debbie, Hi. I really smiled and chuckled at your update as I followed the posts yesterday. Before I read what others said, i thought to myself that figures...one of my biggest exhauster is anticipating and avoiding meltdowns since it's one thing today and possibly something different tomorrow! I also read your challenge on balance, very good, poignant, true. I am not a single mom, though I do manage almost all health, education and scheduling issues in our family, my hubby will jump in no problem and does have some initiative on things. Anyway, hugs to you, single mom and the others out there. Blessings, Wendy
How cool is that.
