Dear Lord of all that is sacred save me from morons and imbeciles!!!!

So Cian arrives home yesterday and I had his IEP/doc folder out. He saw his name asked what it was. I said it was documents about school stuff. Whereupon he announced he wants to stay at his school next year. That he has to stay with Mrs.G to go to 2nd grade or else he stays in 1st grade! EH????

I fire off email to idiot teacher and ask her to clarify Cian's comments. It was in fact my worst fear.

They are "looping" the class. ie:same kids, same teacher all move up the grade together. After the year we've had with this woman there was no way on Earth she was getting Cian again. The fact that Cian half told me about it was incredible in and of itself. (to be honest, I was surprised he could articulate it enough for me to get the gist of what was going on). Ironically this was the quickest email response I EVER got from this woman all year;)

Her suggestion is it would be "good for Cian" as she already knows him. Lady, if you already really KNEW my kid why are we having an emergency IEP this Tuesday to discuss placement!!! UGH, already I can tell they are trying to placate and make us go away!!!

Don't get me even started as to why my 6 year old with the emotional capacity of a 4 year old is privy to essential information as to his next academic year, and we the parents would "get a ltter in the near future!"

I'm not wrong here am I?

Oh no you are certainly NOT wrong!!! See here's the thing. They have already decided placement before the IEP and they can't do that. What IDIOTS.
And I agree, I would move hell and highwater to even let Cian go back in her classroom. Obviously she has had zero training on autism and the poor kid would be a miserable mess.

This is just so wrong.

Even with a good teacher, I'm not crazy about looping classes.
