First day of school

I am so incrediably over joyed. Everett got the teacher I wanted. The psycho teacher from last school year is no longer with the school. Happy, happy, joy, joy. The happiness is overflowing in me. He has a male teacher who was the seventh grade teacher at the end of last school year and although I was never formally introduced to him I would go by the classroom often enough to see that he is a good teacher, he would always say hello to me, and generally always be pleasant. Plus Everett has always responded well to male teachers in the past. The teacher also got good recommendations from other parents. The same parents who pushed for the psycho teacher to be fired.

So Everett is now officially in junior high, seventh grade. I can't believe it. I am looking at high schools already. This morning when all of the students lined up outside the school (it is a very small school) he was towering over most of his classmates. He is five foot three inches tall. For his uniform I bought size 22 mens and his shoe size is 8 1/2 mens. Now I know what is meant by boys eating you out of house and home because that is exactly what he is doing. When we went shoe shopping last week the shoe salesman couldn't believe that he only 13 and told me that I must be feeding him well plus he thinks Everett will wind up being six foot five. By this time next year he might be taller than me and I am five foot seven.

I couldn't wait to share the good news.

Tomorrow I will post how his day went.
