First Day of school
| Fri, 08-05-2005 - 7:27am |
I sent Jake(12,AS) to school on a bus for the first time this morning. It is a "special" bus since we are out of zone for the school he goes to. I am anxious about it-I think he was too. I know he will be fine and that everything will go smoothe. He is in 7th grade and I must stop babying him-I keep saying that over and over. I will update when he gets home around 3. My baby is growing up and I cant stop it--make it stop!
Liza(who is bawling like it was his first day of kindie! I feel stupid!)

Liza,
Hang in there!! It's hard sending them off.....I think we all worry so much about them. Especially as they get older, life just gets more demanding on them. Nathan will start 1st grade at the end of Aug., and I'm already worried. Let us know how his first day went!

Oh, Liza! I hope yesterday went well! for you and Jake both!

Thanks Michelle! Jake had a really good day. He likes all of his teachers and he got off of the bus with a smile on his face!
Liza
Thanks Betsy! I was okay once his Austism teacher emailed me he was having a good day! I got anxious again around 3 waiting for the bus-it got here about 3:15 and he got off with a big smile on his face! Let's hope next week goes as smooth!

Liza,
I am so glad he had a great first day. I am doing the same thing in 2 weeks. Cait will be going to middle school (6th) on the special bus since the program is out of our area. I am getting a little nervous too, but her SDC teacher is wonderful, so I am really hoping for a great year. She has orientation next week. UGH! It is too fast.
What kind of program is Jake in? How are you and he handling the whole middle school thing? Does he have to transition classes? I am still nervous that Mike won't be able to do that.
Glad he had a smile, hoping it lasts.
