I'm sorry..those kind of situations are stressful. I remember one time I was at McDonald's having a playdate with a friend and her kids. We were deep in conversation because things were going smoothly, and the kids were up on the play thing having a good time. I remember hearing several mom's start yelling that some kid was beating up all the kids at the top of the equipment. My son was 2 1/2 at the time, and kids twice his age were coming down the slide with red faces and tears in their eyes. My son came down the slide all full of smiles, and all the kids started pointing at him, and saying "there he his...that's him..etc." My friend and I grabbed the kids, and took the walk of shame out the door! I can laugh about this story now, but I cried all the way home. I hope everything goes well. Take care
Your dd sounds like such a joy! How much fun to spend the day with her.
Ya know, I wonder if this incident wasn't a typical preschool type incident and won't be a trend for her. I certainly hope so. I know when our kiddo's have some differences it can be easy to worry about these situations but hopefully it was just one of those 4yo moments of testing authority and it won't be one of the AS issues she deals with. My dd had her issues in school starting in preschool as well mostly to do with attending, socializing, etc. She may have hit someone once in preschool but honestly it has never developed into a problem area for her. She is more your withdraw and refuse type and then only if she is really stressed. That is her worst behavior. Usually she is more your ultimately flake with few social graces, lol.
Sorry you had to get your first "phone call." I'm fairly new to this board, but I have a feeling once Riley enters a school program, I'll be getting my share of phone calls as well!
It does sound as though this could end up being something that will hopefully be an isolated occurence. It's good that the teacher saw how quick you were to respond and how seriously you take your child to come in and observe and all. I just hope that Alyssa doesn't figure out that if she hits someone - mommy comes to visit! I only say that cause I bet that's something my Riley would try to pull.
((((Chanel))))!
Oh, I've been missing you in chat.
Thanks you guys for responding.
I went in today to observe the class and DD.

I am not 100% sure if there have been other occurances at school, i guess if there were I would have heard.
Chanel,

Anyway, hugs - and hopes for peaceful classes. :)
Now that is definitely one I hadn't thought of.
