I have a few "good" autism stories lately and I figure everyone else must have some too. Thought it would be fun to have a tread to put them in.
Everyone join in (now I have a few to add myself.)

Cait goes to a dance!
I love this part of autism for Cait. She just does not have that typical teen thing going on about socializing and worrying about what everyone else is doing.
Yesterday she tells me the *big* winter dance is coming in a few weeks and she is going to go. So I ask "oh, did someone ask you?" "nope", "are some other kids you know going?" "I don't know, didn't ask". "So who are you going with?". "I'm not, I am just going".And she has done this for the last 2 years. She just goes and hangs out with whoever is being nice to her today unless "M" asks her in advance which he does once in a while.
Hey, all us mom's would like our teen girls to be that independent minded!

Kissing your little brother at school, lol.
The other day at school Mike was goofing around with his brother and knocked him over. Well Dave got hurt and Mike felt bad so he went up and rubbed his head and gave him a great big KISS right on the cheek!
Well, Dave turned about 100 shades of red (too cute) and said EWE! Mike had no clue why. He was just being the nice big brother. ROFL.
Ok. Last one for now
Mike's Cartoon (in pile of papers I got home from school as part of a langauge arts assignment. I love this kids use of vocabulary. It wasn't a vocab assignment, it was more related to the food since they were reading "Hatchet" so all the vocab is his own. lol.
First box.
"Bob wanted a cookie, but only substantial food was in the refridgerator."
"AHHHH"
Second box
(wisps from the refridgerator)
"THere are virtually no cookies left!"
"Your stymied aren't you? Make a sandwich!"
Third Box
"So Bob experimented a mustard and pickel sandwich."
"Bob Liked It!"
"WHEEEEEEEEE"
Here's one of my recent "faves"~
Late last week Claire (1st grade) took an SRI test, which is a computerized reading comprehension test that is supposed to identify what reading level the child is at. Claire scored somewhere in the mid-800's which is towards the end of 4th grade. Her 1:1 was telling me that this was the "talk of the teacher's lounge". But here's the funny part...
On Monday, Noah (3rd grade) took the same test. He scored somewhere in the upper-700's, which is approximately mid-4th grade. Well he gets home and says, "You know mom, it's just not fair! Claire has more autism than I do, so OF COURSE she's going to get a better score!) LOL
Only to an "aspie" would it be a benefit to be an "autie"!
:0)

lol positive story's, I love it!
I think I shared with everyone my bathroom story and chris, but in case you missed it, I will briefly tell it again.
1 We were at a mall where chris was using the mens room. He was taking so much time, I leaned around the corner and said "Chris, are you okay?"
He said "yes mom, no need to send in the reinforcements". Well he was so serious. I just heard howls coming from the mens room, and they were walking out one by one laughing, saying is that your son? lol. It was pretty dang funny.
2 My sons latest "obsession".... wanting my husband to make him a webpage, so he and this other boy can develop and make a game to put on this site. They have everything worked out so far. This other child is the president, while my son is vice president. Chris is in charge of recuiting people to work for them. He also wants me to attach my paypal to this site once its up so they can charge people 3 dollars a month for use of these said games. My son says he will get 40 percent of the profits and in a year he should be rich LOL. I said hon, you have to advertise your site to get people to go there, you need money to do this. How are you going to get this money? His answer....."Mom, I'm going to have you sell some things on ebay for me" LOLOLOLOL.

How cute! Snowball fights would definitely rate in my house as well.

WEll WTG Claire! Awesome Score!
Mike had that test in 1st grade and he scored mid 3rd grade so she has him beat too! Awesome reading!
And of course only an aspie would think of it that way. It is the logical conclusion after all!

I got another. Ok this isn't a funny or cute story but I am using this thread as therapy and I need to highlight the good.
Today when picking up Mike I heard he got a "hand" in school (it is his teachers BIG reinforcer for doing something great). Why did he get a hand? Because he independently asked for a break when he got frustrated with his math work.
WHOOOPIE!!!!!! This is honestly a huge deal for us.
