I have a problem with the teacher my daughter, Anita, will most likely have next year.

I am sorry I really have no advice more than what you are doing. I would assume if your daughter has special needs that would be reason enough...it is just going to create more of an issue.

See it is cases like this where parents need to get together and complain and they don't. I have heard of a kinder teacher here who is not very nice and everyone has the same complaint...so I am like you need to mention this even if its at the end of the year, if you fear retaliation. It appears no one has though. My son does not have the teacher thankgoodness.

Wow, this reminds me of a teacher I had in the fourth grade. She wasn't from another country, but she kept teaching us all kinds of weird things, like getting the names of oceans wrong, and stuff like that. I remember my parents being really incensed, and having a meeting with her and the principal. Personally, what I remember most is when she wrecked my cat puppet by drawing huge red lips on it.

I'm not sure what I'd do in your situation. I think it's a fact of life that teachers don't always know what they are talking about. My first-grader's teacher routinely sends out e-mails and notices that are punctuated and spelled at about a second grade level. She's a nice lady, but she clearly doesn't know how to use an apostrophe or a comma.

That's what college is for. To unlearn all the wrong stuff they taught in regular school.

Sorry this is no help at all, but I wanted you to at least know that someone understands.

I couldn't tell from your post if this woman is the only 4th grade teacher available at the school. If she is then it's going to be tough to get around her. If there are any more options then document your concerns and sit down with the principal. I can tell you from experience that the wrong teacher with an Aspie makes for a very long year, but I've found that the problems usually revolve around an inflexible personality on the part of the teacher. Not sure that's what you have.

Thank you all for your responses.

I guess I forgot to mention that Anita is my non-Aspie kid.
