Going a bit better update

I was able to talk to Cait's aide this morning before school for about 20 minutes and get lots of my concerns addressed. Then the teacher emailed me this afternoon as well. I know at least she is protected. They have noticed the same concerns and are working on it.

The Aide is a total Mother Bear! There have been a couple of instances of near teasing or girls not being nice to Cait and as the aide said "They will not treat my kids badly". She gets right on those witchy kids. She is so funny too. The one teacher says "there are no breaks in my class". She told the 2 AS kids "I have an invisibility cloak. If you need a break, you tell me and we will put it on you and take a break!". She worked it out with the teacher but told him in no uncertain terms that sometimes these kids need a break and they will be allowed to take it.

The aide thus far is spending all but one period with Cait and one other boy who has the same schedule. Cait and the AS boy are becoming friends which is nice. He is very sweet and outgoing. She is also walking them to class or following soon behind. The boy is one of those with a great sense of direction and time so by walking with him to class Cait gets there on time by default, lol.

She stressed out and nearly melted down over a class assignment today. It isn't going to be easy, but I feel better that she is at least being watched out for and cared for.

Renee,

Well, that does sound alot better! That's nice that her aide is so protective of her. I'm nervous about school....having bad dreams that everything is all SCREWED UP!!! I'm still waiting to hear from Nathan's teacher (I left her a message to call me). I'm eager to meet her and make sure everything will be fine for Nathan.

Hope Cait enjoys middle school!
