Good or bad thing?

I mentioned that Mike is in a play. that there is a good thing.

Well the girls tried out for the next play with the same group. There is this odd ball kid, Ian, who is in about all the plays. When the girls show up tonight for a meeting to get stuff for their play Ian is there and tells them "It's official, I am NOT the weirdest kid here anymore, Your brother is by far!"

Why is this a possible good thing? Cause in theater and amung this group "weird" holds some SERIOUS good weight. In fact the director told the girls "your brother makes a REALLY FUNNY Pete" (His part in his play).

Mike told me a few days ago that he was "weirder than Ian" but I didn't get what he was talkign about really until Ian explained it better to the girls. I guess he said it to Mike and Mike was repeating it.

STILL haven't told the director that Mike is autistic though. Hmmmm, should be good fun, eh?

very interesting! I can see how weird in theater is a good thing. At this point I'm not sure I'd tell the director he's autistic unless a situation comes up. Sounds like he's handling things very well. I think it's great that this Ian kid has some kind of 'respect' for Mike. very cool.

.

I can just see it now.

"I'm weirder that you"
"Oh no you're not. I'm weirder by far."

"Well. My *brother* is weirder than you"
"Oh OK. You've got me there..."

How may times have i had that argument when I was a kid? Except we substituted other words like "cool", "tough" or "brainy".

weird is the word, all right...

ROFLMOA Paula!

The next logical step to this naturally is....."My kid is weirder than your kid". Hmmmm Might have some competition on that one in the circles I hang out in.

Love our odd ducks.

Hey Renee,

Was Ian the kid that played the rabbit with the pocket watch in Alice in Wonderland?

Bingo! That is the kid exactly! you are good!

Mike now tells me that everyone says he is the new king of weirdness and he is wearing the label like a badge of coolness. Oh well what can I say.

I asked him why they said that and he didn't know at first then said something like "maybe it is my noises and lines mom" LOL. Actually he acted out some of the noises and said "I think it is when I do this" Sounds like is isn't holding back on his verbal stims there. At least he is comfortable and actually is able to now figure out what is different.

I ordered your tickets. Should have them early next week.
