After a lot of hard work and being extremely persistant I got the IEP I wanted.
Yesterday I had a meeting with the BOE and his teacher and we hammered out the IEP.
Everett is now classified as Learning Disabled again. He will be getting in classroom services for 3 periods, a tutor for 5 days a week, and time and 1/2 on tests. They also put in that he can use the computer and calculator for math but the teacher isn't too fond of that and I am not either. I feel that he needs to learn how to do the math with out the calculator. In addition I just found out yesterday that the class will be getting a new math teacher so some of his problems with math may be with the current teacher. The homeroom teacher currently teaches math and she isn't very good at it, she skips around a lot which isn't good in math. We will see how things go with the new math teacher, I don't know when the new teacher starts. I haven't gotten the official signed IEP yet, hopefully today or tomorrow I will get it.
Now I have to interview counselors for the in classroom services and tutors. My next task is to get the BOE to reimburse me, at least partially, for sending him to private school out of my own pocket. I wanted to get the services he needed first then ask for money.
The city BOE will be paying directly for the counselor and tutor.
Anyone in NYC with experience with this I would really appreciate and advice as to how to go around this.

Hooray for the good news!
I am not in LA (San Diego area) but in orange county there is a very active network of adults with AS and parents of kids with AS who network and even meet regularly. One group meets in Northern Orange county so that might be doable.
They have a yahoo group and it is called ocaspergersgroup. The folks there are very nice. Give it a try.
