District is playing hardball. They are refusing IEE and as such filing due process.
I have an educational consultant through the regional center fortunately who just started with us recently. I talked to him at length tonight and yesterday and we have some good ideas and plans in place.
I am to call some attorney groups he gave me names for. The first on my list is covered for regional center clients (suddenly I am REALLY glad we have that) but as such they are over booked and it can take a while to get someone. Going to at least get them on board if this goes all the way to a ugly due process.
In the mean time he is recomending we try some mediation with him with the special ed director. We are making a list of what our concerns are and what we want and going to the district with that perhaps. I don't know. I really want an accurate assessment or at least some way to address why her scores dropped so much and why they heck some are all flipping over the place.
I have been getting some independent assessors lined up as well. May pay for one privately and then make the district pay for it. Not sure. If we have to pay for an attorney as well it may be more than we can handle financially.
turds.
