Got a social partner for DD tonight.

I have a good friend who has a lovely 13 y.o. dd. We get together often and I know this girl well. She belongs to a girls church group and will take Cait to that with her to start. She wants to help Cait and just adores her, plus it works towards her community service for the girls group that she is in. This girl is actually one of the leaders now. They will do some other social activities together as well. THe girl is only 13 so it is limited what she could take Cait to on her own. And my friend and I have other difficult kids that make it difficult to take the girls somewhere and be around. But I think this will be a great start. This girl is also in a play and into theatre which will be a great common interest for them.

On other notes, the teacher is still a pain in my posterior. Last week she threw away cait's multiplication quiz because she didn't put down her pencil right away. She also took away a "raffle ticket" (class reward program) that Cait had earned because she was late coming back to class after helping her favorite teacher. Cait was falling asleep in class on day adn being noncompliant another. Hoping it was an off week. So far this one seems better. They are making aquariums and terrariums. It is within her area of extreme intrest so school to her is great this week and I haven't heard any negatives yet.

On a positive, Cait has been abolutely great at home. Very flexible, compliant, sweet, helpful and barely any tics at all. It is the view I have of how Cait would be if her brain didn't give her such a hard time sometime. Shows me that she really doesn't mean to be difficult when she is being difficult.

That's great Renee! I hope having a social partner works out as well for Cait as it has for Jade.

On another note, and your previous post, I might be in Oceanside in early May for a few days and would love to get together with you. I lived in the Tri-city area for 7 years and moved up here to the Bay Area a little over 5 years ago. DH and I were thinking of visiting some old friends during the May 5th festivities. It also helps that some friends from up here will be in SD at that same time (that's actually what got us thinking about going in the first place). As a matter of fact the friends going down are Jade's SSP (Shortman) and his parents. We've made arraingements to stay at my old bosses house but we are still unsure whether we will be able to go or not. It all depends on whether or not DH will be able to get the time off work.

If we come down we will be bringing our 3 youngest. It would be great to get together, especially with the kids in tow. The house we would be staying at has a big back yard that was actually landscaped with Jade in mind. (My office was in the house and I took her to work with me. My boss adored her and was terrified she was going to hurt herself on what he had, so he had it all redone, LOL).

That would be HUGELY fun! That is Cait's birthday weekend and she is off track beginning the previous week. That would be a really good time for it. We have a big yard as well, but unfortunately it is not as safe as I would like yet. We just moved here and it has loads of work yet to do on it. It is getting there though.

I will definitely email you when I get some extra time. Gotto run now. DH is on vaca and we are trying to get out and play with the kids some.
