Hello, well after today I feel hopeful about my son! We had our first screening to begin intensive therapy and Jacob did wonderful! I know he can do alot of things and worried he wouldn't cooperate with the doc. He did and did great! He imitated, pointed, followed directions and was great. He also did his quirky things which I was glad he did so the doc. could see everthing with him. He put Jacob down as mild-moderate autism...he also said that Jacob will do really great with the program (35-40) hours a week and from seeing him and evaluating him, he thinks Jacob will be in a typical classroom by 1st grade! I almost started to cry! I am so excited to get started with everything and to see the results!

Thanks for letting me share our great day! I Hope everyone else is having a good one!

Thanks!

Keri & Jacob!

Keri,
That's great news! It's nice to feel like you have a plan of action and have a great chance in it working out. Wow, 35hrs a week is a lot of time but I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end. Is this a home based therapy?

That is fabulous Keri! I am glad to hear it went so well for you.

I have a friend who's son was mild/moderate autism and nonverbal at 3 and started a program. Currently he is doing fabulous. Barely distinguishable from his peers and just the happiest guy. I am hoping the same for your Jacob. There is no magic chrystal ball to know for sure but we have to have hope.

Keri,

I'm glad everything went sooo well for Jacob! It's also wonderful that you now have a program set up for him. Pointing AND following directions!!! Fabulous!!! Nathan couldn't do that at Jacob's age....and look where we are now!! Nathan is in a regular 1st grade class!! You'll be amazed at how fast they learn!
