Happy happy joy joy...Pink Eye!!!

So last night I see his eye getting red and irritated and there were gunkies! Luckily I have the eye stuff from last summer when he got an eye scratch, same stuff they use for pink eye and I give him 2 drops. This morning he wakes up, eye really red and crusties galore. He is home with dh today, I stop by school and let them know as I needed to pick up his blanket and stuff and his teacher tells me they had another boy with pink eye, I didnt even see the notice which was clearly posted on the board.

Now he has had pink eye before, the drops usually clear it up in a couple of days, but would you take him in to the docs? I know she is going to tell me to keep using the drops and charge me the copay for the office visit, Nick hates to go see the doc and she is always running late, especially when they have to squeeze us in. He doesnt need a drs. excuse to go back on Monday to school. It isnt bothering him and he has already had 2 doses of the drops so far. Thanks!

Oh Christine.
I am sorry. We JUST got over the SAME thing 2 weeks ago, but throw in an ear infection on top.
My only fond though that he told me his ear hurt. I was so happy cause usually he waits till it REALLY bad with pain before he'll tell me.

((hugs))

Hope your little guy feels better soon.

Ugh! I feel your pain on that one too! I just have the heebie jeebies about not being home myself with him though. I have talked to dh 3 times already, make sure you wash your hands, make sure he uses the hand sanitizer, make sure you get a big fat drop in his eye, no playing in the dirt, use HOT water when you wash his sheets, dont go anywhere, etc...sheesh!

I think the purpose of going to the doctor is that it will require different drops if it's

Ahh, I read this just as I was eating my Filet-O-Fish sandwich!! We are gonna try the drops first as it looks just like the pink eye he had before. Luckily there is a stat care facility close by that we can take him to if it doesnt seem better. In all honestly, sometimes I prefer going there, they actually get to us faster than his ped squeezing us in between her patients! I told dh to give him tylenol so it doesnt bother him too much. Getting the drops in for Nick is more of a game, catch me if you can, it doesnt bother him, little snot... :)
