Thanks Katherine,
and I am raising a glass of champagne back to you while we recline on our chaise lougues in our fluffy robes having our toemails painted and our necks and shoulders massaged with scented oils by Jacques and his equally gorgeous assistant Raul (who is winking at me, naughty boy...)
And a virtual nod and grin at each of you other fabulous moms joining us for a full day of rest, gossip and whatever happens here, stay here...
more love back atcha,
Sara
That sounds good, however, I have a live Juan on his way with champagne and the makings of organic homemade french toast covered in berries and whipped cream. I also am being treated to a day of no work and just doing whatever I want to do.
I also got a killer homemade pin from my youngest, a regifted gorgeous necklace from my younger daughter and a packet of coupons from my eldest son as well as a plethora of pictures and homemade cards. I think I may have some flowers on the way too.
It's good to be the queen!

Ummm.
Good idea!
I brought some strawberries to go with the champers. And cream to go with the strawberries. And coffee (Dunkin donuts, of course) to go with the cream. And whiskey so we can make irish coffees. And... oh. hands are full!
I was spoiled this year. I'm having a blast downloading music to my new MP3 player. I'm finding all sorts of old and obscure tracks on Yahoo music. I have new funky black & white enammeled jewelry fom my son, and a bright blue pen, with feathers and a beaded sparkly flower on a spring at the end from Siobhan. I plan to bring it into work, where it will be perfect for signing non-disclosure agreements.

Well (sigh), my sad reality is that dh had an IT disaster at his job last night so he was there ALL night and back after a few hours of sleep this AM. He had promised Malcolm to attend his early AM baseball game today, usually he can't because he really goes in Sat. - Sun. 12 hour shifts and not Mon. - Thurs. - that is supposed to change soon, ANYWAYS, Malcolm was very bummed that Daddy couldn't come, the game was stressful because the other team was super good and his team almost lost (actually ended up a tie). Malcolm cried a few times, struck out 3 times (but handled that OK), made it through the game but it was rough going today!
So we went and did free kayaking on the Hudson River for awhile, had another friend over for an short indoor afternoon playdate, he is now playing some computer games and I am having a glass of REAL wine and feeling a little sorry for myself. Although Malcolm does keep giing me surprise Mother's Day kisses, sneaking up and kissing me when he thinks I am not prepared for it.

tired but still happy to be a mother
Happy Mother's Day everyone!
I should probably bring some extra strawberries, since I don't drink anymore and I've seriously cut back on sugars.....but I could totally go for a massage so I'll bring enough massage therapists for everyone to have at least 2 hours (in between drinks and food of course).
Oh and I'll bring babysitters too!
(((((Sara)))))) ((((Malcom))))
surprise kisses are the best.
Paula,
I used to have a viagra pen a nurse friend gave me. It was all the rage at my IEP meetings!
BTW, I am sitting here sipping DD coffee and yummmmmmmmmmmmm it is sooooooo good.

Hi Tina, I just wanted to say that your mom's day was similar to mine, which was the motivation for the cyber-spa and the imaginary Jacques, the perfect man!
Actually, my bad day was yesterday. I had asked DH weeks ago if he was going to get gifts, cards for his mom and sis. He said he was. But yesterday, the day before mother's day, he told me he hadn't gotten around to it. He had also agreed to make dinner for his mom and me but didn't go grocery shopping. So yesterday, the day before mother's day, I was shopping for gifts and cards as well as grocery shopping for my own special dinner. I was not a happy camper and told DH so on a few cell phone calls from the grocery when the ingredients he wanted were not available and I had to substitute.
But DH made up for it today, he got up early, hard for him as he works nights, and made me a nice breakfast with mimosas (not Dom though!) and actually watched Junior while I read the Sunday New York Times, a luxury I never get to do anymore. Then he had worked with Eric on a mother's day card which was decorated with, what else, spirals (see the "cult" below!)but it was endearing. So today was odd, but nice.
Dinner for his mom (and supposedly me) ended a bit ago. OK. I didn't really get to eat, cause you know how it is when our kids are at an "adult" dinner table, they have trouble with food-motor skills-conversation etc.--so I spent most of the time trying to help Eric and keep him from annoying Keith's mom & dad while Keith was Mr. Hospitality.
Right now, it's way past bath time, but the ILS have gone and Keith & Eric are running around playing a loud monster chase game. It kind of makes me happy!
Hence, now is the time to bring back Jacques and maybe some of Paula's Irish coffee and Renee's organic strawberries! I think you need some too, Tina, better than the mcmuffin!
Hugs,
Katherine
Renee,
Eric's IEP is bright and early tomorrow. Can I borrow the viagra pen!
LOL!
