Malcolm (age 10) passed his blue belt test in Tae Kwondo today, that leaves only red and then black, Wow! And I have to say I was fairly puffed up with pride at how well he tested. During warmups and training, he can get rather sloppy sometimes and the sensei doesn't always correct him, but man when he tests, Malcolm just looks so grownup and on point and confident and sharp! Makes me all tear up inside. And both Malcolm and his 2 best friends (who have always done this with him) give such loud, full yells at the end of each form, HEE-YAAAHHH!!! They even looked good sparring today!

They don't know they got their belts yet, but I do, I can tell they passed. They will be so excited at the belt ceremony next week!

Oh, they are getting so big now. Sob.

Kihap for Malcolm, lol!

We are actually thinking about giving Liam a break from TKD after the next testing cycle, and looking for a school closer to home (sorry Susan:(

The drive is 25 mins each way and taking Liam once a week and Cian twice is doing a number on me, not to mention gas for the car.

But kudos to Malcolm....yea!!!

That is great Sara! I love watching the kids do their forms and such too when they really work hard on it.

The boys just got their Green Belts and the girls got their Purple a couple weeks ago. Do you guys do degrees? There are 3 degrees per belt and each degree tests about every 3-4 months so not quite a year per belt. The boys have blue, red, brown to go and the girls green then the other 3. probably about 2-3 more years.

dave is just now really getting serious but doesn't have great motor coordination but it is getting better with the karate since he is serious. The girls learn their first form now. Should be interesting. LOL.

Congrats Malcolm!
