Oh man, I can't believe there hasn't been a response to this.
I hate those days. When they are obsessing on one thing and making us NUTSO. I hope you have a good time at your moms for a couple hours. You really could use a break at this point I am sure.
I totally recognized that title (yep it is mine) and those days are challenging whatever they mean for each kid. Cait has been having more "A" days recently but it has been mostly redirectable. I figure once school starts that will be out the window. She is making me nutso though. So friggen rigid! Even my Dave is having them and I still insist he isn't ON THE SPECTRUM DAM IT! So stop having them dude! I am tired of making excuses for the behavior.
When does school start back for you? Is David going to have the same support teacher and such as last year? That went well, maybe he will pull back together once the regular routine starts. I have written some rough ideas for my new schedules and checklists for the year but haven't gotten on it yet. I am majorly stalling this year and we start in a week. Actually Mike goes to autism camp next week so I really need to start it then, and the rest of the kids go to school on the 20th. UGH. Too short was my summer
I hope you are having a better night and tomorrow.
I was just yesterday wondering where you'd been. I do understand the whole kids out of school and needing to survive July and August lol. Although in GA I just need to survive June and July, school started last week:)
Ah yea the A days. We've had quite a few this last week, although I know it's school, transitions etc. And omg the cactus in the castle thing; that would totally be an either or situation with Liam also. Crazy, innit???
As for obsessions, this weekend Liam has been fixated on needing a new belt....sigh, of course his waste is too huge for a 7 yr old's, but anywhere else we look they want $25-30, for a BELT, that he's just going to drag around the house and will never actually wear....needless to say, no belt and we are still feeling the wrath. Hang in there,
How nice to "see" you. It is always a pleasure to read your posts. "Brain the size of a planet..." LOL
The "A" day expression stuck with me, too. It is a great abbreviation for things like...
6 year old will NOT stop following 3 year old around "correcting" his writing and drawing, no matter how many times 3 year old is intercepted attempting to hit, push, kick or bite. Or, for that matter, use his words. AND when 3 year old gets his strike in, guess who's the victim? (Hint: It is not the one who has tried every form of communication to express, "Leave me alone!")
..."A" day is much shorter.
Funny, "A" day does not come to mind when my children playfully script Rocky and Bullwinkle together. Spectrum-ish though it may be, it is a pleasure.
I hope for a stabilizing school experience. Crossing my fingers to keep the hated teacher away.

School starts the first Tuesday in September, I think.
