Hi Everyone!!!

Michael made a goal in soccor today!!! This is HUGE since a couple weeks ago he dropped his shorts during a game, usually picks weeds or runs behind the rest of the kids bopping his head. And, of course, I missed it. I had a baby shower in Rochester (1 1/2 hours away). DH called by sister-in-law while I was in transit so she could tell me. Best part - when I came home, Michael gave me a blow by blow, down to the ball going between the goalie's legs. YEHHHH!!! We went for ice cream to celebrate (I found a stand with Wow Cow). I am so happy bacause most weeks I sit on the sidelines and pray that he will be interested for two minutes and have fun.

I still don't know if he's meant for team sports, but what an ego boost for him.

Thanks for letting me celebrate.

That is FANTASTIC! WTG Michael!!!!! I am particularly excited that he is excited and gave you the blow by blow. How neat. Maybe that is the success he needs to really start being more involved in the game and have fun!

What a great day!

CONGRATULATIONS! That is so exciting. And yes, how great he could tell you all about it step by step!!!!

Take it from a mom whose son learned to play Little League baseball this year. That stimming is how he is trying to stay involved! We had to work on appropriate stims, such as NOT sitting down on the grass when overwhelmed in the outfield, but yes, OK to pull arms over head, keeping mitt on, to feel better. And no spinning, because need to see when ball was coming. But yes, OK to be singing under breath.

Sounds like he really does want to play and learn how!! How very exciting for you all!!

whooo hooo! that's certainly worth celebrating! my kids played soccer for a long time. My oldest (ADD) only scored twice in 6 yrs, I of course missed them both! My DS#2 never scored in the 3yrs he played. My DD#1 is a natural at team sports and pretty much scored weekly-- that's rough for the boys! We're starting the next round of kids to play soccer this fall so we'll see what happens!
