He's showing joint attention, really!

I just wanted to share something that has made me so happy. My little guy is finally trying to bring me into his world. He's actually showing some sustained joint attention pretty frequently. In the past it has been fleeting.
Last weekend we went to a small waterpark and he would do something, then look over at me and grin, or run back to me and say, "did you see what I did?" looking right at me! I was so excited.
Then the last few days at ST (I sit in the room, but do not interfere) after Eric had completed a task, he came over, smiled and looked right at me and said, "I did it!"
I can't tell you how happy I am! After a year of "momma go away" yelled at me every morning with the door slammed in my face, this is so, so nice. I hope it doesn't end!

Dear Katherine,
Very Cool! Very, very cool! I can sense your joy through the electronic wires here. That is a way groovy step in his development, very important, and the more he does this, the more he will be able to learn to participate in life and with you.
Way to go, Eric and Mom!!!! Hooray!!!
