I hope that you guys have all been doing well. I'm sorry that it's taken me so long to find my way back to you guys. My husband announced back in March that we were going to retire from the Army and that we were going to stay here and start our own photography studio. YIKES! About two months later, we had purchased a house. Then on top of that, DH's parents decided that they wanted the kids for two weeks this summer. Add this on top of starting HIGH SCHOOL and a new school and needless to say Victor's had a rough couple of months.
Well Victor signed up for JROTC instead of PE for high school exercise credit. Brag number one, no one could change his mind, it's what he wanted to do and he is actually flurishing in that class and quickly becoming the beloved little brother.
Last Thursday was the sign up for Drill Team with JROTC. Victor had been excited all week that he was going to try out for the team. ( Is this MY Aspie?) So Brag number 2. Well the day arrives and Victor shows up right after school. WOAH. When I asked him what happened he said "Mom, I'm just too tired" grabbed a glass of koolaid and fell asleep drinking it. (Brag number 3) When we woke up, he was determined that the Coach wasn't going to let him on the team because he had missed first practice. Instead of finding out how to solve the situation, he had given up that he had missed his chance. Well today, he spoke with the coach, explained everything including his Aspieness and Coach let him try out again (BRAG NUMBER 4) and he MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!
Hurray for Victor!
Oh that's great! Well done Victor! I soooo get why you are so proud of him!!
