Hey, Happy Note, Mike comes home!

Today! I get to pick him up at noon. I only had one call all week and that was that he was doing great!
Funny how autism becomes so ingrained in life. For this whole week there was a big difference in the house and MAN OH MAN I missed that kid and all his quirks.

Wow! that is incredible. The amount of anxiety we parents go thru. I am so happy for you Renee for all the problems you face everyday. You do deserve a break. I am sure you missed him so much.
take care,
Anandhi
The week is over already, huh?
one phone call?
ROFLMAO!!!
Sorry, but you were soooo stressed about it. Isn't that just typical?
I'm very glad it went well. Positive experience all round and all that.

He had SUCH a great time! He came running up and gave me a big hug. I didn't recognize him at first because he bought one of these beanie hats (gray) from the camp he was wearing and looked nothing like himself, lol. But imagine my boy doing that! Then he talked my ear off about everything at camp. SOOOOOO COOOOOOL.
I took him to lunch with the 2 ladies I work with and he did FINE! He was a polite nice boy and even talked some to one lady he had never met before. THAT is AMAZING! I had prepared her for him to growl at her and not to take it personally, lol.
Then I got a call from his teacher and she told me 1) how proud she was of Mike and 2) how proud she was of mom that I didn't call constantly, lol.
I guess the week wasn't without it's sticky spots. Wouldn't have taken the right kid if it was. But he was redirectable which is huge. Never in my wildest dreams even a year ago would I think he could have managed that kind of situation without at least one major meltdown.
He is still really happy tonight but I expect the melt downs some time this weekend. I know (from the teacher) it was a stressful week for him with all the changes even though he had a great time. He will let it all hang out soon.

That is sooooooo cool.
