Amy Ann,

I am glad you came out of lurkdom.

My heart is just breaking for your family right now. What a horrible set of experiences! I can only imagine. Actually, I can more than imagine some of it.

{{{Amy Ann}}} I'm also another person that wants to give a hug to you. I can't imagine what you, your ds and dd are going thru. And for him to be on the spectrum to add to that!

Stick around, you will get tons of support. I wish I could say more, but I'm kinda a newbie here. I at least can give you a much needed cyber hug.

My son has Asperger's. He's 10 and your story is exactly what I fear. As he gets older his general anxiety gets worse. I'm sorry you're dealing with this.

((((Amy Ann))))

I am so sorry, that is so hard. We nearly had to make that decision with my son about a year ago and again 3 years ago. I think we are on the right track with him now but it still scares me for the future.

I know another board member who hasn't been here in a while had to admit her son a long time ago and it worked out well for them. They were able to get him stable and make lots of progress. I hope it works out the same for you.

Hi Amy Ann,

I want to add to the welcome and (((((hugs))))). My ds is 9 and when he is placed wrong educationally, we see his anxiety really escalate. He has to take his challenges with lots more support than other children who are as smart as he is. I hope the hospital has great, understanding staff who will be able to offer solutions that will support your son's recovery and growth!

I worry a bit about your SO. MIght he attend a meeting with the doctors at the hospital? It will make the current situation so much harder if you have an unsupportive, even unbelieving partner whose attitude might even exacerbate an already difficult set of circumstances.

Anyways, thinking of you and yours,

Sara
