if u just keep him home, you'll only be making his world smaller and smaller! so its great that u get him out and about even if he is a little uncomfortable!
I assume when you are referring to Autism, you mean your son doesn't fit the mold for Classic Autism. Asperger's and Classic Autism are on opposite ends of the spectrum and really are like night and day. I read somewhere that Asperger's is actually a case of excesses rather than deficits. I personally don't care what they want to label it as long as I can get my son whatever help he needs. My son gets quiet and reserved when we are out in a crowd too. If he does see someone he knows he often speaks in a flat robotic voice, if he responds to them at all. Very different from when we are at home. But every once in a while he will smile and be genuinely friendly and that makes it all worthwhile. I would continue taking him out and exposing him to new things.
Hi Mary. I know exactly what you mean. My 4 yr old PDD child has some days where he's more "autistic". As for you

I know what you mean about needing to get the kids out of the house and moving around.
