Betsy, same here on many accounts. I think that is the place you get to when your kids are much older and you have many kids with many different needs.

I also agree with the others. I have mostly surrounded myself with other parents of children with needs. Some of that is because of the anger and some is embarrassment. When my kids behaved in an autistic way it was much less embarrassing with parents of kids with needs who get it then trying to explain it to people who eitehr will judge or try to be too "understanding". Other SN parents are just easier.

Finally a couple years ago I was comfortable to start having friend ships with other parents as well. It is easier now. My closest friends are still those who are parents of kids with needs buy I am able now to expand my horizons a bit.

Like the previous posters, I don't think the anger really ever goes away.
