Lately I worry all the time about DS's future. Especially his childhood and teen years.

Trisha,

You are doing the best you can - we all are.

I wish I knew the answer to this question. I know I can tell you that none of this is your fault, but if you're like me, it won't help much to hear that. But, I'm going to say it anyway--this is not your fault! You didn't do anything to cause your son's autism. I know it's not my fault that my youngest dd hit the genetic jack-pot (she has three separate issues going on), but it doesn't help me worry any less about her future. In fact, I was laying in bed last night worrying about whether she will be able to handle kindergarten or not. Then, that lead to worrying about the rest of her school years, whether she'll ever marry and on top of that, I worry about how all this is affecting our older NT daughter. It's enough to give a person an ulcer, huh? I wish I could give some kind of comforting advice, but at least you know that you're not alone. There are so many of us in the same type of boat and even though it doesn't make it all better to know we're not alone, it certainly takes the edge off sometimes. Sending cyber hugs your way...(((())))

Hi Trisha,

Its impossible not to worry, I do it every day, sometimes every minute of every day.
