What do you do to give yourself a special treat?

I lock myself in my "new" bathroom and just soak away. I use a sugar scrub all over my body and then put nice lotion on, pluck my eyebrows, and put on my face cream

I also window shop at the mall with a yummy coffee via Starbucks OR get a Aunt Annie pretzel with a lemonade while browsing. Clearance racks are my downfall. I am a true shoe addict.

Sappy chick flicks, or a cheesy 80's movie like Goonies-Breakfast Club-16 Candels works well too.

A few choice girlfriends I can call and just bullsh*t with

I'm obsessing over my newest tattoo so I've been online looking into that

Naptime, naptime, naptime!!!!!

I like to read. A good escapist novel will do the trick. The library is just down the street.

I will sometimes 'treat' myself by calling friends and having a good old natter. This actually has two benefits, because I will often clean when I am on the phone -a headset for the cordless phone was about the best $20 I ever spent! You can dust tidy, sweep, mop, wipe, fold laundry, and pick up but not run water or vacuum. And with your mouth and hands busy, you don't eat! I have a great calling plan, so if I don;t care if I spend two hours on the phone to Denmark/ It is still cheaper than a cleaning lady! My friend Jo is the same way and we often call each other on Saturday afternoons and talk while we clean.

I do the bath thing too. Epsom salts is a stress reliever but it kills the bubbles.

I write and blog, -although not-so-much lately. It is my thing for me and it does help to purge stuff.

I sometimes buy myself flowers. I love flowers but it would never occur to DH in a million years.

This is possible because my kids are a bit older: My kids and a few friends have started swimming in the evening in the ocal community center. They are old enough now that I dont; have to get in the water with them, so myself and the other mom(s) -who all get on very well, have a good old chat for a hour (or I read if alone).

oh and I play *my* favorite music really LOUD when driving anywhere without the kids!

I do the loud music thing too Paula, but it's when I clean and the kids and hubby are out of the house.

Gosh how do I treat myself.... Well I have to say the best treat I do, is to only go to the grocery store BY MY SELF!!!

That is a big stress reliever.

Unfortunately a lot of mine are food related too - I clear the kitchen after the kids are in bed and cook something 'grown up' (you know, that needs a proper knife and fork to eat it, involves ingredients and chopping) and listen to the radio/CD - either folk or classical or 80s music. I have a 'grown up' living room/den that I can hide in and not see the mess the house is in, that helps.

A long hot bath with a face mask and a trashy novel or magazine, some exfoliating (I don't do nails but a friend swears by a pedicure). Flowers. Sometimes DH and I take a 'date day' when the kids are in school and the little one is in daycare and sneak off for lunch or to the movies together during the day. I sometimes go window shopping, buy something cheap like some new mascara or a book,
