Ahhh of course, I knew I wouldn't be alone :).
I am cracking up over Paula's "Chlorinated Kid" comment lol.
Well Liam still loves his bath; ( all 85 lbs and 4.5 feet of him too). I can get him in at least once, maybe twice a week. Cian is in around twice (often after a poop mishap;( and Roan around twice a week. I know, I know babies need more, but honestly, she gets a bath when she's obviously dirty. My key rule is if the fingernails are dirty, they need a bath, lol.
Lately Cian has been wanting to shower with JT so that works for me too, one less to scrub;)

Hehehehehe, Seems I am the only one with daily showers. Well for the older ones.
It is every other day with the younger ones but once they hit about 10 and near puberty it is daily or they are STINKY! We actually do shower after swimming because of the chlorine and blonde hair issue. GREEN!
Actually it was a problem prior to daily showers. It was just a rule, once you are 10 you take daily showers and it is put in part of their evening routine. It was much easier when it was a daily routine. My kids are big on routine and not having it every day actually made it a problem. It is still a problem with dave our only not every day kid. I think that is going to change soon cause I am tired of arguing with him over the deal.
Teeth is also part of the daily routine but I have to check on that and deordorant to make sure it is done BUT we are finally close to it being a real routine and they are much better on that.

My dh and ds (7, Asperger's) take a shower together before school. Since he has to get up so early for school (6:15 AM), it helps wake him up. The routine works well. The problem is if my dh isn't home. I really don't want him in the shower with me anymore since he notices and talk about my body. On those days, he usually doesn't bathe.
I am embarrassed to say that he doesn't brush his teeth very often. He does go to the dentist twice a year, so hopefully that helps a little.

Hi Lanie!
Will he understand any reasoning that if he wants to keep his longer hair that he has to shower/wash it more often? Otherwise he has to cut if?

See I think thats the problem I have with Chris, because 'Logically" bathing just doesn't make sense because your just gonna get dirty again.
Oh, Lainie, that's sounds so familiar!
David has always freaked out about baths. It turns out he can't handle the feeling of having wet skin, so it's okay as long as he's submerged, but when he gets out he goes into mega autie mode. Typically that comes out as weird, and unacceptable behavior, like screaming in a weird voice and dipping the end of his towel in the water, or stuff like that.
These days, I'm lucky if I can get him into the shower once a week. It's such a tremendoust strain, I actually make an effort to go easy on myself during the day, so I have the reserves to cope with the impending shower-time stress. It's insane. Oh, and when he's done, he won't turn off the water. He'll just shout in a stressed, high-pitched voice. I turn off the water, and he just stands there shivering. It doesn't matter how hot the water was, he's going into hypothermia, because "the water only sprays HERE and HERE but doesn't touch me HERE." He stands there shivering and whimpering in anguish until I wrap a towel around him. Did I mention it has to be straight out of the dryer? He lets his hair drip down all over himself, and makes a huge production of that, but won't learn how to use the towel to soak up some of the water. After his weekly bath, he looks noticeably different. He's a different color. And smooth. So, yes, I feel your pain.
Meanwhile, his tiny little 6.5 year old brother just gets in the shower, gets clean, turns off the water, dries himself off, and finds his own pajamas. I was amazed when he first did that, because I never even attempted to train him to do it. It just needed to be done, so he did it. Totally different.
Oh, and if David's hands are unusually sticky, like with maple syrup, he'll wash them, but otherwise I guarantee you he's not washing his hands at all during the week. Or his face.
Hee hee
Susan, we brush once a day if we're lucky. the dentist gave us a mini eggtimer with blue sand, it works well, but once seems to be the magic number here.

Well right now Ryland loves to take a bath and he does so every night before bed.
