Eileen,

I've heard that www.Do2Learn.com has some good freebie type stuff for schedules, picture cards, etc. I've also made a schedule for my dd where I took a picture of the various daily activities we did (like a picture with her and the OT, or a picture of our library, the grocery store, etc.). I used a piece of cardstock paper for each day of the week and attached the pictures with velcro (so that I could change out the pictures for the days or weeks when the activities changed for holidays, etc.).

I'm Kris. My kids are Kasia (10 yo girl) and Bug (7 yo girl). Both gifted. Bug's my Aspie. She's got comorbidities of OCD, Anxiety Disorder, Sensory Disorder, and showing a touch of ODD these days. She's currently on Prozac, which helps the anxiety and OCD. We're starting clonidine to help her "shut down" at night. I might try it during the day just to see if it helps with behaviors during the day, too. (They said we could do either since it's a short-acting drug and no need to build up a blood level.)

Anyway, DH is ADHD and I highly suspect undiagnosed Aspie. They're like two peas in a pod, although Aspie is misdiagnosed as ADHD all the time

I had one kid who couldn't sleep unless touching me (Kasia) who is now a dream (well, except puberty is hitting early, complete with hormones) and the other who slept like a dream. I really thought "wow, I must've paid my dues with Kasia and earned myself a complacent child." Yeah, that lasted all of a year or two. LOL! Now she's my hellion in the way that Apsies can be. But I love her to death. She's got all the Apieness but is very social (tries to be at least, until other kids make fun of her) and with the sensory thing, loves to touch and hug, sometimes to her detriment.

Academically she's way up there, which causes the school to question her disability (because they're idiots), but socially she's so backward it breaks my heart. She really does try too hard and it's hard to see her get dumped all over and picked on constantly (especially by adults who should know better).

So that's us in a nuthouse...erm, nutshell.
