This stuff is making me nuts.
I had a dream the other night that Cait was pregnant from some middle school twit who took advantage of her.
Tonight she is 25 minutes late (so far) coming home on the bus. She has a male bus driver and is the last on dropped off. You KNOW where my mind went when I realized she was late. I called transportation and there was some emergency with another driver and her driver had to take home a double load. THey are at another school and a different bus is coming to help out. It will be another 30 minutes likely until she gets here. good thing I called. I would have had the guy arrested by the time they got here if I didn't and let my mind wander.
The girl is not consistent yet on her periods but I find that I am anxiously awaiting the next one just to be sure. Geez, since she told me she had a new BF and he wants to kiss her I am a wreck. The kid is like an 8yo emotionally. She is so not ready for romance but her body tells her different. She doesn't even care about the boys, just is digging the attention.
UGH, I need a drink. Going to have wine now and it is only 5pm.

PS, Mike's aide tells me he has a crush too. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Dear Renee,
And AAAUGHH over here, too. Malcolm is all happy that his girlfriend is moved back, and yes, he is interested in sex! And he just turned 9!!! OK, he asked all about sex some time ago and we read him that book, quite good and very specific, and he has been asking questions about it ever since. Very, very interested, he is.
And then his girlfriend is coming over for a playdate and it's a rainy day out, and I ask him what he'd like to do while she is there ... he looks sideways at me and says "I'd like to love her, OK?" He's lying on ds and my bed and I'm like "uh ... uh .... NO!!!!!! No way, buddy." and he's like "Why not? I love her." and I'm like "That's for grownups, dude. You're a kid, nowhere close." And he's like "Why do I have to be a grownup first? That's no fair."
And I say "that's not happening and don't even THINK of talking about that around her MOTHER, OK? PLEASE?? Off limits!" Her mother is my friend and this boyfriend/girlfriend talk, which they BOTH do, makes her nervous anyways and she will turn many shade of green if dh starts talking about "mating" and her daughter, gasp...
So they played Pokemon instead. Whew...
We have some more talking to do about this. But, actually, HEY. That should be dh's job, this is a guy thing. Hey, dh, come here, we gotta talk!

I'm not looking forward to middle school...although I expect David will be too busy playing geeky role-playing games or something to be interested in girls.
This won't make you feel any better (sorry), but I can't help but remember MY middle school on an Air Force base in Okinawa. Two things stand out in my memory. One was the horrific state of the girls' bathroom, which had no windows or lightbulbs, but lots of mysterious puddles and used feminine hygenie products proudly displayed everywhere (the lack of lighting was a mixed blessing). Man, that was a scary, scary place. The other thing that stands out in my memory was the girl who everyone envied because her boyfriend was a G.I. who picked her up from school on his motorcycle.
Don't worry, though. This was way back in 1980. I'm sure now the boyfriend would pick her up in a car instead.
Isn't being a parent fun?
