I just emailed Henry's teacher to get started with Henry's testing. We are on Fall Break right now, so nothing will be happening until Monday.
I wasn't worried about the IEP meetings and stuff, because I really feel like Henry's school tries to do the best for each child. Now I've read some disturbing threads re: IEP meetings and unhelpful school employees. I had an IEP meeting last year for Henry to get into speech. The speech teacher evaluated him, and Henry did qualify for speech, but his teacher and I decided that he had outgrown his stuttering. I didn't feel that he needed it anymore.
*But* now there are already papers in place at his school regarding testing, so will that make getting him tested now easier? Faster?
I'm confused.
I guess I won't know anything until either Monday or if/when his teacher emails me back before Monday.
So I guess what I'm saying is: Wish me luck.
Thanks!

Robin,
Good luck! I, myself, have not had many problems with Nathan's school so far (knock on wood!) I have been lucky. I know reading some of the posts can make you worry, I know I did in the beginning too.
The best advice, is to watch and make sure they are doing everything for Henry. In the past, I have made comments and asked questions. This makes the teachers know that I am paying attention.
Nathan is in 2nd grade this year and still doing pretty good. He is still receiving the same services and has a really attentive and communicative teacher this year as well.....so that is a huge plus!!
Anyway, good luck....let us know how it goes!
