I don't have any advice I'm afraid but I wish you the best of luck with it. I know it's frustrating!! I had a hard time potty training Haley and believe it or not, it wasn't me that finally got her trained. It happened at daycare of all places! I wish I knew what they did to get her on track. To this day, I still have no idea but I was sure grateful!
I know what you are going through. My son was over 5 before he was potty trained. Has your son been tested for food allergies? I was wondering because of his loose stools. For my son, he had anxiety over making a bowel movement in the potty. He was afraid that it would hurt. We went to a therapist and pediatric gastroenterologist. The gastro had us use laxatives on him (the kind that work immediately) and place him on the potty. We did it twice and it worked! He realized that it didn't hurt to go in the potty and was potty trained from then on.
I understand taking a break for a while and then starting back with renewed energy. Good luck!
Did you kidnap my ds and not tell me. That is Cian (4.5 and AS) too a TEE. Her also pees in preschool (never poops) and it's a BATTlE to get him to pee @ home at all. I can tell you we finally got ds#1 potty ready finally at 5.5 (ASD). It will happen, hang in there
Thank you, your advice sounds like that of my DS's counselor at school! So you may have some expertise after all! My only issue with that was I have reached my limit for now with the "accidents" and I needed a break. I took Christmas break "off" and he's been in what are basically diapers 24/7 because I didn't even feel like I could ask, or plead with him to try to go... and still enjoy the holidays (that sounds bad as I reread it... but...it's true). I hope I have not messed up

Thanks for the reply.
I have asked his reg. pediatrician about food allergies, and he kind of brushed it off
Hi Jennifer,
My heart goes out to you because you're going through a very tough situation.
Hi Jennifer!
You are not a terrible person for giving up on potty training for awhile.
Hee hee hee,
