Dee,

Good luck. You'll do fine. Remember if you don't agree with anything, you don't have to sign off on the IEP.

I cant' tell you anything about Georgia except stuff I heard in songs:

1. It's on my mind.
2. There's a midnight train goes there.
3. The devil went down there (don't know if he took the midnight train or not)
4. Georgia Brown is sweet
5. The Lights went out there one night. -have no clue if this is related to #3 or not.

;)

Dear Dee,

Big (((((HUGS)))) and good vibes for a terrific IEP meeting. Do you visualize getting everything you want and everyone being calm and understanding and working together for the common good? I do, and SO FAR (knock wood, cross fingers) I have been a very talented visualizer. Anyways, it does help my nerves.

Even though behavior comes from neurological causes, calmly applied modifications can still be very helpful. So much depends on the understanding, talent and dedication of the teachers applying the techniques!

Anyways, good luck. Remember, IEPs can most certainly be changed and should be as you go along!!!! What you get today is not the final picture, by any stretch of the imagination. A good IEP stays in process.

yours,

Sara

Dee,

Good luck on the IEP tomorrow. I get nervous too, but I also get kinda excited as well...being able to sit down and discuss everything certainly helps me. I always need to know everything!! It puts me more at ease.

And Paula and Sara are right...don't sign if you don't feel comfortable. And don't let them rush you. If they do, you can always come back and change something!

For Nathan, they work on behaviorial issues too. He has a tendency to scream and cry when he gets overwhelmed or if no one is helping him (he demands help!). He's learning how to raise his hand, be patient, and how to "talk" to the teachers and aids more pleasantly. lol
